ALMA ELLEN BENNETT ST. GEORGE’S, NL August 16, 1934 - April 6, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alma Bennett announce her passing on Friday, April 6th, 2007 at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John’s at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sisters: Sister Gertrude Bennett, St. John’s, Marina (Len) Butler, O’Fallon, Illinois, Anne Marie (Fintan) Alexander, St. George’s; one brother: Gerard (Mary) Bennett, St. George’s; three special godchildren: Meline (Stan) Foote, Caroline (Mark) MacDonald and Mark Butler, precious aunt Nita Bennett; sisters-in-law: Laura and Gertie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents: Blanche and Hayward Bennett and brothers: Harold and Edward. Visitation will take place from St. Joseph’s Church, St. George’s on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, from where the Mass of christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at 2:00 p.m. Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery, Courthouse Road. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
