It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Penney announce his passing on Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children, seven sons: Michael (Bridget), Jim (Mary), Gerard (Elizabeth Collins), Bill (Joanne), Brian (Heather), Ron (Susan) and Phillip; two daughters: Margaret Targett and Marion Clark; grandchildren: John, Bryn, Julie, Lisa, Claire, James, Sean, Arlene, Tamara, Sonya, Patrick, Ruby, Robert, Richard, Sara, Sherry-Lynn, Gerard, Jennifer, Ronald, Gabriel and David; 34 great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Pearl Penney, as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife Ruby (Burrows) Penney; son: John Penney; sons-in-law: Patrick Clark and Bob Targett; brother: Patrick Penney; sisters: Elizabeth Hynes and Marion Penney; brother-in-law: Melvin Hynes. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 7th at 10:30 A.M. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue. Fr. Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
