Baxter William Simms October 21, 1912 - August 19, 2007 Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Baxter Simms announce his sudden passing on Sunday, August 19th, 2007 at the Lohnes Complex at the age of 94 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his five sons: Harvey (Irene), Corner Brook, Baxter (Kathy), Pasadena, Terry (Dorothy), Corner Brook, Barry (Bonnie), Corner Brook, and Ken, Corner Brook; daughter-in-law: Ruth Simms,Woodville, Ontario; 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sister: Agnes Randles, Oakville, ON; sisters-in-law: Myrtle Hillier, Campbellton, NL, Joyce Hillier, New Market, ON and Gladys Hillier, Deer Lake; special friend: Hedley Saunders, Lohnes Complex; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and staff at the Lohnes Complex. Predeceased by his wife Eliza, 1999 and son Reginald, 2007. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Monday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22nd at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, Park Street. Rev. Patricia Melindy officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation or to the First United Church Restoration Fund.
