I am beyond saddened with the news of Theresa’s passing. She was a lady I looked up to and thought a lot of. I looked forward to days that she subbed at the school in Sheshatshiu and learned a lot from her kind heart and patience. I’ve thought of her many times throughout the years!

Brian, I remember vividly, how proud your mom was, when you were an outstanding Kindergarten student. I was not a bit surprised to hear of your adult successes in your present years. My deepest condolence to you and your family. She was so rightly proud of both you and Brenda. Her legacy will live on in your hearts and especially the hearts of her beautiful grandchildren. Clarence, you were the envy of all the ladies at the many St. Mike’s and church functions, as we wished our partners were as adept on the dance floor as you twirled Theresa around that floor:) You were the apple of her eye! Theresa was an exceptional teacher, brought out the best in her students, and always willing to help at the drop of a hat. Our twin girls so enjoyed having her as a teacher and our eldest daughter in her enrichment class. She was a very valued member of the St.Mike’s team. It was such a shock to hear the terrible news of Theresa's passing. I know that there is nothing anyone can say that will take the pain away or make this time any easier for any of you but I am sure that you can take comfort in knowing just how loved she was and what a truly special person she was.
Our family connections go way back to when my Mom, Rose Hurley, taught Theresa when she was going through school. The family ties continued when Theresa's sister, Eleanor, lived with our family for many years during her nursing years and the bonds were even more secured when I took my first teaching position in Goose Bay at St. Mike's school on the base. When my Mom and Dad realized that Theresa was a teacher at St. Mike's they were relieved to know that I would have someone I could turn to, if need be. When I think back on all the laughs that Theresa and I shared while at St. Mike's it warms my heart. She always loved a good laugh!
Although I left Goose Bay many years ago, I never lost touch with Theresa and it was always so wonderful to hear all the latest news updates on the family.

We were extremely saddened to hear of Theresa's passing. Our memories of her go back to our years in Goose Bay when she taught our son at St. Michael's. I've had several conversations with her over the past few months during visits to Goose Bay and was always so glad to see her. She was a wonderful lady who certainly enjoyed life and it is always so very difficult to lose someone so precious. Thinking of your family at this difficult time. Clarence, Brian and Brenda, I have to tell you a story Theresa told us while golfing back in the 1990’s. One day when we were out on the fairway, I will always remember the story Theresa told me about a group of grade 4 students. Of course, being a teacher she told it perfectly! There was this day when someone brought in a turntable (record player) to show to the class. The children were amazed with it, looking at how the records were placed on the silver stand, how records could be stacked, watched how the needle slowly moved up then over to the beginning of the record and then the music could be heard! As they watched in awe, Theresa said one little boy piped up and asked “Miss, where is the rewind button?” We all had a chuckle over the story and we continued on to finish up of round of golf! It was a great round of golf! Lots of good memories of Theresa! RIP.
