Frederick has always kept in touch with Estelle via Facebook. He informed me Saturday of the terrible tragedy that occurred in the area of Red Bay and took the lifes of Estelle and her husband Melvin.
Although we worked together almost twenty years ago we have never forgotten you and we often think of you and the good times spent in Port au Choix.

Uncle Dave and aunt Ive. Your love shines through the exceptional lady (aka the one man army) that cousin Estelle had become. Even though I am not with you physically, My arms wrap you in hugs.
To Steve, God bless you. So many memories of us all as we grew up together not just as family, but as friends.
As I write this, I still cannot fathom why God decided this was their time. But I imagine Estelle up there dancing around with nan and pop most likely telling them inappropriate jokes.
This world has lost two amazing souls. May we all take from this that we need to love each day and each other now and every moment as tomorrow is not guaranteed.
David,
I do not know you personally, but knowing the exceptional loving souls of your parents; you must be one exceptional young man. May god bless you and guide you. I pray that the future will shine down on you and bring you happiness once again.

I will remember Estelle for her tremendous sense of humour and Melvin was a colleague at Orica who was a very honest and just person. Both were joyful parents who loved there son David infinitely. I only met Melvin a couple of times but Estelle more often, first when David attended Wee College and then our paths crossed again in the last couple of years. Estelle was the type of person that you only had to meet once and you felt like you had known her forever. If you spent any time with her at all, you quickly realized her heart beat for David. She was so proud of him...with good reason. David, the fine young man you are is because of the life and examples your parents were in your life.

It is with great saddness that we have heard the tragic news of this terrible accident . Estelle and Melvin lived on our street, Ashuanipi Crescent and that is where we were introduced. Through my connection with Estelle at Lab Motors we became friends and neighbors. Our thoughts and prayers are with David and pray that he will be strnghthed by his memmories and the support of his extended family.
6 years ago Calvin retired and we moved to Fredericton, NB to be with our son and his family but still call Labrador City home and still feel that we are part of that wonderful close knit community. You have the support of this extended family. God Bless each one of you.

Ivy & Dave I was so sorry to hear of the deveasting loss of your daughter and son-in-law. I only had the pleasure of meeting Estelle the very last time I was home and the minute I met her I knew I liked her immediately. She was funny, out spoken and right away we had one thing in common that made me like her more.
I can’t imagine the pain you are in today and what the days to follow will bring, but I do know in the short time I had with Estelle the love she had for you both and her words of kindness will always be with you. I wish I would have had the chance to get to know her more. Just in the little time I did spend with her I know we would have become fast friends.

Such a shock to our community of Labrador City to have learned of both Estell’s and Melvin’s sudden passing earlier this week.
