Joan Marie
Moss
(nee Buckle)
September 12, 1931 – August 7, 2018
Joan Moss was a force. An unwavering source of love and kindness. She was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend, and grandmother. Born in Corner Brook, on the west coast of Newfoundland she has touched the lives of everyone she met until peacefully passing yesterday in Gander with her son, Clane. Joan was a caregiver, a mother to all. It came naturally to her. From her siblings to grandchildren and everywhere in between, Joan shared her love of life and how beautiful an experience it could be. She loved the simple things like the flowers in her garden and trinkets at flea markets, while also cherishing the excitement of big city theater and glamorous shopping malls. She loved her family and her friends in the way love should be, non-judgmental and unconditional. Joan Moss was a force. She made waves in life and her kindness ripples on in us forever. Joan was predeceased by husband, Clary Moss; infant daughter, Laura; parents, Wilfred and Laura Buckle and brother Llewelyn Buckle. She leaves with loving memories her children, Cheryl (Gary), Clane (Stephanie) and Duane (Tracy); her grandchildren, Stephen, Amanda, Lucas, William, Ashley, Kerri-Lynn, Brian, Patrick and new baby James; her loving siblings David, Lloyd, Rosalie and Edgar, as well as many in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Joan will have visitation hours at Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander from 7-9 PM on August 8 and Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 Mark Avenue in Corner Brook, from 6-9 PM on August 9. The service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 25 Main Street in Corner Brook at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 11, with The Very Rev. Catherine Short officiating with internment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Finally, Joan wanted a celebration of life gathering which will be held at the Glynmill Inn at 3:30 PM following the internment. We invite friends and family to join together at these times to celebrate such a wonderful life. The family guest book may be signed by visiting www.fillatre.ca.
