To: Aunt Clara, Eric, Paul, Rick and the entire Anderson Family
I had planned to be with you today, but events beyond my control have prevented that.
While Uncle Bob's passing wasn't a total surprise, it doesn't make saying goodbye any easier. My thoughts are with you today and I trust the support you will receive from your family and circle of friends will provide you with the strength and courage to see the day through.
There is a well know saying that goes something like: "It takes a village to raise a child" and when I think of uncle Bob it is in that context. Uncle Bob has always been part of my life for as long as i can remember" going back to the dozens of lunches at our house when he worked for the Dept of Highways, along with the great stories shared around the table and the beautiful smell of those camel cigarettes after lunch.
Uncle Bob always had a great handshake, loved to listen and share stories about our respective lives and family, and was never in a hurry.....a very unusual trait in today's world. I felt as welcome at Uncle Bobs and Aunt Clara's table as i did in my own home....so what more can be said.
You will be missed Uncle Bob as you move to the next stage of your journey, but move on knowing you were one of the good people from the village that helped raise me!!!
