Obituary of Emily Brown

Emily Brown Deer Lake, NL (Formerly of Mount Pearl and St. John’s) On Saturday May 3, 2008 in the presence of her family, Emily Brown, a beloved and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed quietly and peacefully from us, at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, in her 90th year. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Marjorie (Wayne) Cullihall; cherished grandchildren: Heidi (Goose Bay), Mark and Anne; sister, Lillian Winsor, St. John’s; two sisters-in-law : Elizabeth Piccott, St. John’s and Gwendolyn Brown, Moffatt, Ontario; together with a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and her friends at the Interfaith Home for Seniors, Corner Brook where she had been a resident since July, 2007. Emily was predeceased by: Chester, her husband of 52 years; brother, Raymond and sister, Mabel (Winsor) both of St. John’s; parents Aaron & Geraldine (Gaulton) Piccott of Brookfield, Bonavista Bay. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Sunday, May 4th from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will take place on Monday, May 5th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church Deer Lake with Reverend John Olsson officiating. Interment to follow at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. Flowers gratefully declined. Those wishing to make a donation in her memory may do so to either the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation; St. Michael’s Anglican Church, or a charity of one’s choice. “......let there always be a song within your heart - keep singing ‘till we meet again........”
