ALLAN JAMES CHESTER MELBOURNE STEPHENVILLE, NL (FORMERLY OF PORT AUX BASQUE) NOVEMBER 1, 1924 - MAY 16, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Allan Melbourne announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the age of 83 years. He will be ever missed by his loving long time partner Daisy Currie; son: James (Kimberly White); daughter: Elsie (Patrick) Tremblay; grandchildren: Dean, Derick, Darren, Denise, Andrew; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Loretta Skeard, Daphne Patey; sisters-in-law: Susie Melbourne, Hannah Ford, Grace Savoury, Edith Gardner; two very special nieces: Paula Dominie and Paulette Roberts as well as a large circle nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Cornelia; son Hartley and brothers Cecil and Douglas. Allan was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He never lost his sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The Funeral will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18th from Wesley United Church, Port aux Basques with Rev. Richie officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley United Cemetery, Port aux Basques. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Wesley United Church.
