It is with great sadness that the family of the late Solomon Butt announce his passing at the Long Term Care Unit in Forteau on May 10th, 2008 at the age of 97 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are his children: James (Evelyn), Audrey Flynn (Pierce), Priscilla Barney (Edward), Manuel (Olive), Bert (Dorothy), Denzel Philips, Sybil Letto (Eldon) and Mervyn; 27 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Winnifred Butt. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from where the Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, May 13th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Marlaine Leggo officiating, assisted by Rev. Norman Cutler. Interment followed in the Anglican Church Cemetery in L’Anse au Clair. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, L’Anse au Loup.
