RUTH LAURA GERTRUDE LEWIS Curling, NL Jan. 24th, 1915 - July 26th, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Laura Gertrude Lewis announce her passing on Saturday, July 26th, 2008 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son: Derek (Gloria) Lewis, Curling; grandchildren: Debbie (Michael) Aylward, St. John’s, Doug Lewis (Lorraine Stuckless), Pasadena and Lori (Darryl) Power, Corner Brook; great-grandchildren: Lisa, Bradley, Glennis, Keith, Derek, Christa and Candice Lewis, Brandon and Justin Aylward, Bradley and Sarah Power. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, members of the ACW at St. Mary’s Anglican Church and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Gertrude Lewis, sisters Bertha Hilliard, Barbara Murphy and grandson Wayne Lewis. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th at 2:00 PM from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling with Archdeacon Edward King officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund or to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
