It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kathleen (Kay) Jean Locke (Batstone) of Corner Brook announce her passing in St. John’s surrounded by her loving children on Monday, August 18th, 2008 in her 73rd year. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Roy, and will be sadly missed by her daughters Sandra (Darrell) Reid of Norris Point, Paula (Larry) Hicks of St. John’s, Glenda (Thomas) Baker of Corner Brook and one son Roy Locke (Michelle) of Corner Brook; her five precious grandchildren Tracy and Christopher Hicks, Jason and Heather Baker, Megan Locke and two step-grandchildren Darren and Dana Reid; her caring sister Dorothy Hounsell of Halifax, brothers George (Margaret) Batstone of Cormack, Joe Batstone of Steady Brook and James (Angela) Batstone of Corner Brook; sisters-in-law Emily Batstone of Corner Brook, Marion (Lewis) Trickett of Topsail, Margaret (Walter) Hamlyn of Corner Brook and brother-in-law Ewart (Dianne) Locke of St. John’s; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the nurses and other staff of North 2A at the Waterford Hospital for the wonderful care and support during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Friday 10-12 Noon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22nd at 2:00 PM from All Saints’ Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Bishop Percy Coffin officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charitable organization of ones choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
