Obituary of Maisie Dawe

Maisie Ivis Dawe (nee White) November 24, 1945 - August 23, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of Maisie Dawe announce her passing at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 62. After fighting with Alzheimer’s disease, Maisie’s battle finally ended on August 23rd. She will be tremendously missed by her husband of 45 years: Dick (Arthur) Dawe, and her children Michele (Pierre Lavallée), Lavaltrie, Quebec, Ritchie, Brampton, Ontario, and Jennifer King (Jason), Corner Brook, Newfoundland. She will be remembered fondly by her mother Gladys White, her sisters, Brenda and Karon and her brothers, Terry (Shirley), Don (Bernice), Kevin (Robin) and Glen (Laura). She also leaves to mourn her beloved grandchildren: Bradley Clarke-Dawe, Geneviève, Marie-Claude, Sophie and Zacharie Lavallée and Kaden King. She was predeceased by her father, Harry White and her sister, Connie. Maisie was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and a great friend to all who knew her. With a generous and kind heart toward everyone she knew, Maisie's outward beauty was only over shadowed by her inner beauty. Following cremation, friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark Avenue on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street on Wednesday, August 27th at 2:00 p.m. Major Frank Johnson officiating. Donations in Maisie’s memory may be made to the Corner Brook Shriners Children’s Travel Fund or a charity of your choice.
