It is with great sadness that the family of the late Patsy Nichols announce her passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 at the age of 62 years. Patsy was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her loving husband Fred; son Clint Mercer (Tammy), British Columbia; daughters: Jackie Mercer (Rob), Saskatchewan, Mandy Mackie (Brent), Ontario; brothers: Edwin (Robina), Bert (Irene), all of Deer Lake, and Ivan (Maryanne), St. John’s; sisters: Sylvia Gordon (Martin), Ontario, Elaine Stagg (Lloyd), Reidville; 4 grandchildren: Mackenzie Mercer, Brookelyn Mercer, Jacie Roseneau, and Bennett Mackie; step-daughter Lori Anstey (Wayne), Ontario, Stepsons: Jason Nichols (Terri Lynn), Reidville, and Fred Nichols Jr., Ontario; 5 step-grandchildren: Dillon, Ryan, Brooke, A.J. and Faith; two brothers-in-law: Beaton Nichols (Beatrice) and Barry Nichols (Barbara); one sister-in-law: Laura Bridger (Manson); 9 nephews, 3 nieces; 9 great-nieces; 8 great-nephews; 1 great-great niece, as well as a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by parents Eli and Ivy Baker; sister-in-law Jessie Baker; nephew Cyril Baker and parents-in-law Doug and Dorothy Nichols. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Friday 7-9 pm and Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, August 31st at 2:00 pm from the Pentecostal Church. Pastor Peter Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
