It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dora Way announce her passing on Friday, October 10th, 2008 at the John M. Grey Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn her children: Lige (Emma), Savage Cove, Lucy Myers, Devon, Alberta, Wavie (Earle) Way, Jane Way, Savage Cove, Melvin (Emily), Bomanville, Ontario, Glen Vira, Devon, Alberta, John (Flora), Fort McMurray, Watson (Rosalyn), Branford, Ontario, Donna (Sam) Applin, Bomanville, Ontario, and George Elaine Pilgrim, Staphenville; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Eliza Hodge, Helen Hodge, and Hazel Way; brother-in-law Frank Simms, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Elijah, parents George and Mary Hodge, sons-in-law Clarence Myers and Bruce Way, brothers Clarence, Porter, Harry, Philip, John, William Hodge, sisters Cicely Pilgrim, Beatrice Stevens, Betty Stevens, Sarah Fanny Norman, Kiziah Gaulton, and Caroline Humber. The family received friends at St. Mark’s Anglican Church on Saturday and Sunday, from where the Funeral Service took place on Monday, October 13th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Jean Brenton Hickman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Savage Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
