Obituary of Ruth Candow

RUTH MILLICENT CANDOW (nee STONE) Curling, NL Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Saturday, November 1st, 2008, Ruth Millicent Candow at the age of 86. Left with fond and loving memories are her six children: Doris Toms (Robert), David Candow (Christine), Karen Carpenter (Glen), Ann Kellett (Dave), Jill Power (Glen) and Janice Candow (Philip); grandchildren: Andrew and Jonathan, Angela and Matthew, Gordon and Alexandra, Jennifer, Catherine and David, Sarah and Jacob; one great grandchild: Stone; two sisters: Mary Ann Graham and Hilda Pike; many nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon Henry Candow, May 8th, 2007; parents: William and Emily Stone; brothers: Donald Stone and infant, William; brothers-in-law: George Bell Pike and Reverend Donald Percy Graham. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at 2:30 p.m. from St Mary’s Anglican Church, Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), St. Mary’s Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of ones choice.
