It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Ruby Hardy announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 after a short illness. She leaves to mourn with loving memories her only son Jonathan (Rhonda), four precious grandchildren: Pamela (16), Jonathan Jr.(13), Heidi (18) and Zane (21); sisters Gloria Fifield-Murphy of St. John's, Beverley (Babs) Batt of Corner Brook; sister in-law Lena Anderson of Corner Brook; brothers in-law James Hardy (Mary) Corner Brook, Oscar Hardy(Cheryl) Wabush, and 25 nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends and relatives. Ruby was predeceased by her husband John (2002), babies Heather (1965 ) & Pamela (1975 ); father William Fifield, mother Violet Langdon (Walter Langdon), brother Max Anderson, brother in-law Wilbert Batt; sister in-law Irene Coffin (Abe). Ruby was best known for her love of her family and her business, The Drapery Shoppe. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, West Street, Stephenville Crossing on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 2:00 from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church , Hillview Avenue, Stephenville with Bishop Leonard Whitten officiating. To honor Ruby’s wishes cremation will take place following the service and a private burial will take place on Friday. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Augustine's Anglican Church Memorial Fund. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
