It is with great sadness that the family of the late Howard Paul George announce his peaceful passing after a long illness at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, November 7th, 2008 in his 77th year. He was born on January 25th, 1931 at Millertown Junction. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 50 years Joan (nee Payne), his 9 children: Calvin (Amelia), Pasadena, Stanley (Donna), St. Judes, Irene (Donald Coles), Ontario, Lois, Guy, Lucinda all of St. Judes, Christopher (Beverly), Pasadena, Randy (Tania), St. Judes and Jason (Tammy), Deer Lake; 11 grandchildren: Melissa (Steven), Paul (Kayla), Matthew, Robyn, Jennifer (Richard), Michelle, Dylan, Kristen, Chelsea, Mya and Abigail. Howard is also leaving to mourn his 3 brothers: Robert (Nellie), James (Candice) and Winston, 3 sisters: Edith, Mae and Clara (Ken), sisters-in-law Alma (Gordon Skiffington), Musgravetown and Marie George, Pasadena; brothers-in-law: Herbert Payne, Georges Brook and Donald Payne, St. Judes. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Howard was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Elizabeth George, brothers William and Verdon, sisters Ella, Emily, Irene and Catherine. The family would also like to send heartfelt thanks to Howard George’s home care worker, Lillian Bridger. Everything she has done is appreciated greatly and we know that he loved her greatly. She loved and cherished him dearly and we know that he will always be in her thoughts and heart. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Sunday and Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11th at 11:00 AM from St. Michaels’ and All Angels Anglican Church with Rev. Canon John Meade officiating. Interment to follow at Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the family.
