Obituary of Nellie Alfreda Canning

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Canning announce her passing on November 2, 2018 in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 89 years.  She leaves to mourn her daughters, Lucy (Neville) Hopkins, Eleanor Zigmund, Margaret Russell, Maxine (Lloyd) Elliot, Sheila (Edgar) Baggs, Iona (Neil) Elliott, Paulette, Fronie (Ronald) Mercer and Mona (Donald) Sheppard; sisters, Margaret Brown and Laura Kellar; brothers, Orland and Eli; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and special friend, Valerie White.  She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; son, Whycliff; granddaughter, Debby; great grandson Corey; parents, Charles and Lucy Bushey; brother, Jessie; sister, Dora; stepsisters, Susie and Mildred; stepbrothers, Lester, Ray, Jim and Clement. Visitation will take place on November 3, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle where the funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Noble officiating.  Interment to follow in the Pentecostal Cemetery.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff at Long Term Care, (Labrador Health).  As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choosing.  Flowers are accepted.
