CHARLES WILLIAM “JUNE” “CHARLIE” GEORGE JR. Corner Brook, NL Passed quietly away in the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital at 7:27 P.M. on November 18th, 2008. He leaves to mourn with heartbreaking sadness, his wife of 10 years, Maureen; his five children: Paula (Chris) Ball, Halifax, NS, Derrick (Sharon), Torbay, Carl (Paula), St. John’s, Trudy (Tony) Maher, Deer Lake, Wayne (Jackie) Corner Brook; two step-children: Tony Keough, Jr., Keswick,ON and Suzanne Portsmith, Keswick, ON; one aunt: Maisie Woodman, New Harbour; six sisters and one brother: Mary Tipping, Calgary, AB, Vera Stroller, Texas, Helen Ford, John’s Beach, Sylvia (Pat) Plater, Detroit, Mich, Donna Pippy, Small Point, Terry (Ellen) George, Corner Brook and Gloria (Ron) Carter, St. John’s; 16 grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. Charlie was predeceased by his Mom and Dad: Nellie (O’Neill) and Charles George Sr.; by his first wife of 43 years and the mother of his five children, Marion (Normore) George. Charlie was known around Corner Brook where he was born and raised as an avid walker, a wonderful storyteller and to the kids on our street as the “Candyman”. We all love you Charlie and know you’ll never be forgotten, you’ll always be in our hearts and prayers. Farewell Oh Good and Faithful Servant of God!. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21st at 10:30 A.M. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Cremation to follow with the burial of the Ashes on Saturday, November 22nd at 10:30 A.M. at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, potted plants graciously accepted or donations may be made to Daffodil Place. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
