Helen House

Hawkes Bay, NL

December 27, 1941 – December 9th, 2018Passed away on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders, Helen House of Hawkes Bay at the age of 76 years. She leaves to mourn with loving memories: sons: Paul (Pam), Terry (Mary), and Darren (Kathy); daughters: Janet (Philip), Diane, and Ann (Robert); brothers: Martin and Chesley; sisters: Christine and Gloria; grandchildren: Nikki (Tristen), Janelle (Shaker), Stephen, Christopher, Amanda, Danielle, and Kallen; and great granddaughter Aylah; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Helen was predeceased by: husband Kevin; parents Edmund and Margaret House; brothers: Thomas, Maxwell and George; and sister Alma.

Helen was born to Edmund and Margaret House, one of nine children. Helen was born and raised in Hawkes Bay, except for a few years spent in Corner Brook, she spent her life here. Helen made a home in Hawkes Bay and together she and Kev raised their family here, it was and always will be home. Helen started her family at a young age, and from the beginning until her last breath, her family were her priority. Every sacrifice in her life were for her children.

Helen had a love for her church, her faith was steadfast and strong, it paved the path and guided how she lived her life.

Helen spent most of her life working in retail, she was a hard worker who believed in giving 100% to everything she did. She had a willing smile, she treated all those around her with respect. She had a constant eagerness to help others.

Helen and Kev had 53 years together, they raised 6 children, not without trials, but with unfailing Love. Helen mastered the art of being the greatest “Nan”. She poured never ending Love to her grandkids who meant everything to her. They continually filled her heart with Love. Through the years many lifelong friendships were made, many happy and sad tears shared. Helen and Kev after retirement, spent time travelling Canada and the USA, exploring and visiting family, they loved every minute. Now they are together again! Our mother was an angel among us, she was our guide, mentor champion and friend. Our world is so much better because of her presence in it. Your memory will live on in your children, your grand and great grandchildren. Fly high momma, until we meet again, rest easy!
