Hilda Lewis (nee Morris)

October 22, 1918 – December 17, 2018

Corner Brook, NL

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Hilda Lewis announce her peaceful passing at her home in Corner Brook surrounded by her loving family on Monday December 17, 2018 at the age of 100 years. Hilda will be forever remembered, loved and missed by her only daughter Diane Lewis - Anstey (Brian) with whom she resided, grandson Brandon Anstey; daughter in law Maxine Murphy; step grandchildren: Anne-Marie, Joan and Donna; step great grandchildren: Chelsea, Isabelle, Kingston and Avery; special thanks to Justine Webber for all her support and special friend Cory Pennell. She will also be sadly missed by a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Albert Lewis and her son Wayne Lewis. The family wishes to thank Dr. O'Driscoll and family for their continued support through this difficult time, also to her Caregivers staff Nikki, Isabella and Shauna for the exceptional care they provided to Hilda. Family and friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev. John van Vliet officiating, interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Hilda can be made to the Long Range Shrine Club 11 West Street, Corner Brook, NL A2H2Y6.
