It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin Clayton Tooktoshina announce his passing on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Labrador Grenfell Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL at the age of 59 years. He will be sadly missed by his brothers: James (Madonna), Ralph (Priscilla), Steven (Delphine), John, Donald (Shirley), George (Maria) and Samuel (Christine); sisters: Joice Allan (Oswald), Susan Rideout (Winston), Myrtle Banfield and Claris Barron (David); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Steven Arthur Tooktoshina, mother Elizabeth Harriet (nee Lucy) and brother Edgar McLean Lucy. Special thank you to the Health Science Centre, St. John’s doctors and nurses of the Dialysis Unit, as well as staff at Labrador Grenfell Health, Goose Bay. As per Melvin’s wishes cremation has taken place. A service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 29th at 11:00 A.M. from St. Andrew's Church with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating.. As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Health Science Centre Dialysis Unit, St. John’s.
