It is with great sadness that the family of the late Annie Stagg announce her passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on Sunday, November 30th, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, children: Fred (Barbara Smith), Gladys Strickland, Myrtle (Norman) Strickland, James Stagg (Debbie), all of Port Aux Basques, Joyce Stagg of Holyrood, Bertha Strickland (Melvin), of Burnt Islands, Steve Stagg (Bonita), of Port Aux Basques; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Lloyd Smith (Eileen), of Sudbury, ON; sister-in-law Georgina Smith, of South Branch; caretaker Betty Mauger (Charlie Benoit) and friend Ada Stone, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bertram Stagg (1974); parents Gertrude and William Smith; daughter Alma Stagg; brother Ronald Smith, and sons-in-law: Andrew Strickland and James Strickland. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Sunday 7-9 p.m., Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday 10- 12 noon. The Funeral Service will take place at Wesley United Church, Port Aux Basques on Tuesday, December 2nd at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Ritchie. Interment following at Wesley United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted.
