Hannah May (Eavis) Strickland

July 11, 1935 – December 19, 2018

 

Passed peacefully away on December 19, 2018, under the loving and attentive care of the staff at the Calder Health Care Centre Long Term Care Unit, Burgeo, Hannah (Annie) May Strickland (nee Eavis) of Ramea, NL aged 83. Left to mourn are her husband James and daughter Shirley Carter (George) of Ramea, daughter Mamie Keeping (Wayne) of Burgeo, granddaughters Pamela Carter (Chris) of Paradise, and Gillian Greene (Matt) of Burgeo, and great-granddaughters Hannah Connolly and Sophie Greene. She also leaves her brother George Eavis (Norma) of Lower Sackville, NS, sister Dorothy Rose, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Eavis both of Ramea, as well as her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents John and Susannah (Bowles) Eavis, brothers Jim, Bill and Jack, sister-in-law Catherine Eavis, brother-in-law John Rose and nephews Bob Rose and Paul Eavis. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held in Ramea at a later date. Friends and family are invited to visit Jim, at his home, at their convenience.

 

Annie will be remembered for her devotion to family, her gentle nature and her radiant smile.
