Obituary of Joan Quigley

Passed peacefully away on December 7th, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, JOAN QUIGLEY at the age of 68. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dominic; children Richard (Perpetua), Bradley (Joan) and Gregory; grandchildren Marissa, Nathan and her special great grandson Aiden Stuart Quigley. Joan will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends including sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Gallant, Tom Quigley (Gerry), Dermot Quigley (Kathleen), Rosalie Quigley, Joe Quigley (Annette), Sadie Simms (Ray), Aloysuis Quigley, Alphonsus Quigley (Lulu), Ann Biava (John) and Dorothy Gregway; brother David (Diane), sister Dorleen Allen (Bill), sister-in-law Joan Riddoll, as well as step brothers and sisters including Bill Clarke (Karen), Neta Sitzer (Wayne), Tom Clarke (Rose), Bob Clarke (Rose-Ann), Don Clarke, Brian Riddolls, Gary Riddolls and Robert Riddolls. Joan was predeceased by her parents Irene Clarke and Winston Riddolls, brother Allen and brothers-in-law Joe Gallant and Jim Quigley. Thanks to Dr. Morris and his staff, Lawton’s Pharmacy for their wonderful support over the years. A special thanks to very special friends including Eva Hynes, Mary Basha, Evelyn McLeod, Tom Basha, the MS Society, the Curling Ranger dart league girls and especially the girls of the monthly lunches which she enjoyed so much.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 10th at 10:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street Father Bernard Buckle officiating, followed by cremation at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to cancer research or to a charity of ones choice.
