1934 – 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Johnson announce her peaceful passing on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 84 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Raymond (Marina) Johnson, Shirley Elliott, Norman (Glenis) Johnson and Brian (Maxine) Johnson; grandchildren: Richard, Brianna, Scott, Robert and Candice; great-grandchildren: Owen, Ian and Veronica; sisters: Ruby (Dave) Jennex, Shirley Wall and Betty Tipple; brother Melvin (Jean) Tipple; sister-in-law Janet Tipple; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Johnson, sons Eric and Bruce Johnson, parents Raymond and Alice Tipple, sister Joan (Jim) Marks and brother Walter Tipple. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday, March 4 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. from First United Church, Park Street with Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to follow at the Townsite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bennett Hall Ladies Auxiliary or First United Church.
