Obituary of James John Parsons
James John Parsons
Corner Brook, NL
1930 - 2019
After living a wonderful and blessed life James John Parsons of Corner Brook, NL passed away peacefully March 14th, 2019 at the Palliative Care Unit Western Memorial Hospital in his 88th year surrounded by love ones. Jim was raised in Stephenville Crossing, at an early age he was employed by Bowater’s Pulp and Paper Mill where he retired. Jim or Jimmy as some of his friends and family would have called him was a man of few words; he was a man who loved life which was only superseded by his love of his family. He loved to laugh, joke and was seldom seen without a smile on his face; you would know he was near when you heard humming and singing; he was happiest when he was spending time with his family; and loved the Island of Newfoundland with many fond memories made in Norris Point. He was predeceased by the love of his life Elizabeth Parsons April 11th 2015. After his wife’s passing, he went on to reside at the Lohnes Complex in Curling where he was loved and adored by the staff and residence and will be gravely missed. The children of Jim Parsons are extremely grateful for the years they spent with their father; they will forever in their hearts remember him as a wonderful Dad who dedicated his entire life to his family. He loved his children with a whole heart. The empty void he will leave will be felt by Howard (Raelene Parsons), Diane (Alex) Parsons, and Sandra (Ken) Scollay. His love for his children only become stronger as his family grew, Jim adored and cherished his Grandchildren Cassandra, Sarah, Audrina and Joshua, (step children Justin and Cristina) whom loved and adored their Pop and will remember him with the most wonderful memories. He leaves with cherished memories his sisters Marjorie McKay, Anita Dennison, Stephenville, NL Edna (Larry) Tavares, Tiverton, RI and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents James and Margaret Parsons, his two brothers Harold and Roy Parsons and his sister Doris Downey. A special thank you to the wonderful people in the Corner Brook Dialysis Unit who loved and cared for him during his dialysis treatments. You became like family and we are forever grateful for giving us more time with our Dad. A special thank you to the incredible staff at Palliative Care who helped us to take care of our Dad and ensure he was comfortable in his final days, your caring and support meant so much to us. It was our Dads request not to have a funeral. But to remember him with a drive around this beautiful island or to live your life as he did, not stressing, but being grateful for everything he was blessed with. An expression of sympathy may be expressed with any charitable organization; the following organizations have made an impact on the life of Jim, Canadian Heart Association, Kidney Decease or Cancer Foundation. We sincerely thank all the family and friends who have supported our Dad through his life and in the final days. To our Dad, we could not have felt loved or cherished more and we could not love or cherish you more, thank you for dedicating your life to ours; and for making our childhood and adult life incredible. The void you will leave will only ease in knowing you will be with Mom; may God keep and bless you both.
