June 1, 1933 - March 24, 2019

It is with sadness that the family of Marjorie Maria Anderson announce her passing on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Mountain View Estates in Corner Brook, at the age of 85 years. Marjorie loved to socialize and had many fond memories of the various organizations she belonged to especially performing in the many plays put on by the ACW.  She will be remembered as a great card player as well as being an expert at jigsaw puzzles. Marjorie was born in Muddy Hole, Newfoundland and then grew up in Pushthrough. When she turned 18 she moved to Burgeo to work at The Burgeo Cottage Hospital as a nurse’s aide. Predeceased by loving husband Hanford, son Rodney, mother and father George and Gertrude Simms, sisters Melita Fudge, Elsie Kendell, Lucy Degruchy, Audrey Hann, Vera Simms and brother Gerald Simms. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: daughters: Joan Anderson (Robin Clarke), Jean Anderson, Linda Pink (David) and Sandra Webb (Chris); brother: Russel Simms; sister: Shirley Strickland; grandchildren: Michael, Geordie, Crystal, Jodi, Jill, Justin, Samantha, Emily and Kelsey, 9 Great Grandchildren, Shayla, Ashley, Jack, Sylvia, Tucker, Maddison, Gloria, Sadie, and Zane; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Friends may visit St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Burgeo on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Elsie Rose officiating. Interment to follow at the Burgeo Community Cemetery.
