My God Father Don
Mr. Donald P Davis father, husband,and friend,
Our final farewell and our love we now send.
You now have your wings to be up with your wife,
We’ll all miss you dearly and your wonderful life.
Your seven grown children as well as their spouse,
Will live with you’re memory as they visit your house.
They’ll all be sad for such a great while,
But time will heal sadness when they remember your smile.
All of your grandkids should hold their heads high,
They certainly knew you were a wonderful guy.
As sad as they are, this time is so hard,
They’ll hold their ground and keep up their guard.
A Labrador man you showed with great pride,
Back home to Cartwright you’d go for a ride.
To the cabin you built that was always like home

I am saddened to hear of Don’s death. I think the first time I ever heard of Don was in the late sixties. He had flown a small plane into Cartwright and Bruce Paddy told me the pilot was Don Davis. I thought I would love to be able to do that!
