What a fitting tribute to a beautiful person, Margaret was truly that and a very precious gift to all who really knew her. My memories of Marg and George go back to my very beginnings as a small boy. They were like a second set of parents to me, as I worked with George on his trucks delivering groceries and when he delivered for Lane’s Bakery at a very young age, I went on camping trips with them and hung around their house. Marg was always tolerant even when I was a nuisance.
She was always supportive of me in later years in my work, my travels and in my efforts to help others. In a lifetime you could have no better friends. Lately I have been thinking about them both, even at a distance they we’re on my mind. A few years ago when I was home, I was approached by Charles Wells, former manager of Shoprite Groceteria, for whom George delivered groceries, just to greet me and tell me he remembered me working for George. When I told Marg, a few days later what had happened, she remarked “that was so long ago, Jesus was just a boy”. Always a response and always a smile and a laugh. She holds a special place in my heart, along with George, in their own way at a very young age they helped set the pattern for my life. My condolences to George, Cheryl, Darren and Don and their children and to all the extended family. In the next few days they have much to celebrate about the life of a very special gifted woman and how fortunate they were to have her.
