June 27th, 1917 - December 24th, 2008
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wallace Simmons announce his passing on Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 at Lakeside Homes in Gander at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Isobel (Bert) Brake, Wally (Elaine) Simmons, Verna (Ron) Gill, Armorel (Bill) Kinsella and Roy (Rose) Simmons, as well as 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen, grandson Bert Brake Jr., grandson-in-law Ed Hynes, son Roy Thomas, sisters Isobel and Emma, brother Robert, parents Robert and Isobel. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Friday from the hours of 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27th at 10:30 AM with Marilyn Avery officiating. Interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Townsite. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
