GEORGE STEADMAN BUTLER
March 17th 1942 … December 26th 2008
With his wife, daughters and friend Douglas by his side, George Steadman Butler passed away peacefully on Friday December 26th 2008 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 66 years, after a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born on March 17th 1942 to Margaret and George Butler; He married Jenetta Snooks on July 31st 1967 and was blessed with three daughters. He was a fisherman all his life. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 41 years Jenetta (Snooks), his daughters: Maureen Snooks (Derek Barnes), Tina (Dennis) Crocker, Gloria Butler (Brent Crocker), grandchildren: Glenn Snooks, Amy Snooks, George Crocker, Brian Crocker, Matthew Butler, great grandson Dorman and father in law Daniel Snooks all of Trout River, his very special friend Douglas King; Port Aux Basques, sisters: Cassie Crocker; Glenburnie, Ivy (Harvey) Parsons; Trout River, sisters and brothers in law: Margaret Parsons, Sadie Butler, Alice Butler, Franklin Crocker,Whelemena and Russell Snooks as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Butler, mother in law Annie Snooks, Sisters and Brothers: Goldie Crocker, Alfreda Crocker,Bridie Crocker, Garfield Butler, Powellus Butler, Carl Butler, Benjamin Butler, Sisters and Brothers in law: Steadman Crocker, Nelson Parsons, Harold Crocker, Bramwell Crocker, Marion Butler, Frances Butler, and Leona and Leonard Snooks. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive Deer Lake on Monday December 29th from 12 … 1 PM, from where the Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM with Major Lindsey Oxford officiating, interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery Trout River.
