It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alphonsus Swyers announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Friends visited St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in St. George's on Sunday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, from where the funeral service took place on Monday, December 29th, 2008 at 10:30 am. Father Gerard Patry officiated. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations were made to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.
