It is with great sadness that the family of the late Augustus Plowman announce his passing on Sunday, January 11th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn his wife of 51 years, Clara; daughters: Emma (Greg Newton), Leah (Dave Moores), Carolyn (Lawrence Gaslard); sons: Robert (Mary Reid), Parry; grand-daughter Keri Plowman Gaslard; great-grandson Steven Lavers; sisters: Vivian Spence, Juliett Cornick, Florence Goosney, Leah House; brothers: James, Clayton Sr. and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family received friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix on Monday and Tuesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service took place from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 14th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted.
