It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Stanley Batstone announce his passing on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Angela; son: Kenneth (Paula); granddaughter: Kaitlyn; and his precious furry friend Mitzi; brother: George (Margaret); sisters in-law: Emily, Mary (Bill), Patricia (John), Doreen (Roy), Sheila, and Bernadette (Raymond); brothers in-law: Felix, Kevin (Suzette), Dan (Rose), Ralph (Karen), Bruce (Denise), David (Christine), Edmund (Agnes) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was predeceased by his parents: Kenneth and Selina Batstone; parents in-law: James and Cecilia Philpott; sisters: Doreen, Gertie, Dorothy, (Chesley), Kay (Roy); brothers: Fred, and Joe (Marilyn). Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday, June 7th from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 8th at 11 a.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA 10 Connor Road Corner Brook, NL A2H 3G4.
