Passed peacefully away at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center, Stephenville Crossing, Emma Hounsell in her 90th year. Emma, born at Brig Bay, was the daughter of the late Henry & Elsie(Samson) Hoddinott. Her husband Philip predeceased her 22 years ago. Left with happy memories and thankful hearts are daughter Sandra (Dave) Rogers, Stephenville, sons Henry (Kay), Pasadena, Derek (Mary), Halifax, Wayne (Bev), Stephenville; eight grandchildren, Matthew & Sarah Rogers, Joanne Hounsell(Robert Janes), Jennifer Hounsell(Sean Coburn), Lorne Hounsell, Shelley Hounsell (Myk Gray), Allison (Konstantin) Kouzovnikov and Bradley Hounsell, as well as five great grand-children, Emma, Benjamin, Alexander, Isabelle and Peter; two sisters Marie (Truman) Maynard ,Corner Brook and Henrietta (Benedict) Mancini, Yonkers, New York; one brother Seymour (Juanita), Deer Lake, and sister-in-law Gertie Webster, Corner Brook, as well as a wide circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by family members, sister Maisie and husband George(Spence), sister Bessie and husband Peter (Samson), sister Linda and husband Ronald (Flegel), brother Peter and wife Stella.. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, Corner Brook on Monday, January 19th from the hours of 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20th at 2:00 PM, from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with the Very Rev. Michael Rice officiating. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund, Bay St. George Long Term Care Center or a charity of one’s choice.
