Obituary of Leslie A. Mitchell
It is with great sadness the family of the late Leslie A. Mitchell announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Monday, December 13, 2004 at the age of 84 years. He served in the Forestry Unit, the 59th Regiment, the 166th Regiment and was a member of the Canadian Legion. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 56 years, Renee Rebecca (nee Murley), children, Greg Mitchell (Lynn), Louise Brake (Rick), Wayne Mitchell (Joy), Monty Mitchello, and Dean Mitchell (Donna), 8 grandchildren, Penney (Dennis), Emily (Corey), Mark, Michael, Allan, Heather, Lesley and Jena, 2 great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Madelyn, 3 sisters, Alma (Jim), Annie and Wilhelmina (Bill), step mother-in-law, Onea Murley, sisters-in-law, Joan, Jeanette and Shirley (Max), brothers-in-law, Lorne (Beulah), Clarence, Alex (Rickie) and Elwin, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Emily Mitchell, mother and father-in-law, Henry C. and Elizabeth Murley, brothers, Jerry and Max, brother-in-law, Bill and sister-in-law, Rae. The family will be receiving friends from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Thursday, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 16th, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Curling St., Rev. John Hounsell-Drover officiating, with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Curling. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted, or donations may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church or the Janeway Child Health Centre.
