Obituary of Eric Walter Manuel

It is with very heavy hearts that the family of the late Eric Walter Manuel announce his sudden peaceful passing on Thursday, June 20th at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family, at the tender age of 85. He leaves to mourn his wonderful children Donna, Paulette (Frank), Judy (Dave), Dan (Holly), Adlai (Sharon), Tracy (Todd), and Cavelle, his daughter in law Jennifer and Paul Gabbard, who have always looked up to Dad as a father. His grandchildren Karyn, Megan (Paolo), Chantelle, Jonathon, Donna, Andrew, Danny, Terri Lynn, Sharlene, Julian, Tyler, Amber, Justin, Brandon, Abbie, Kyle, Brianna, Zachary, Cassidy, little buddy Zayn, Zara, and Ibrahim. His great grandchildren Emily, Kaleb, AJ, Parker, Mikayla, and Ethan, Addison, Jack, and Lucas. Also leaving to mourn his siblings Pearl Lagatdu, Patsy (Larry) Kennedy, special niece Sheila, and his large circle of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Patsy, his two sons Terry and Larry, his parents Walter and Georgina Manuel, his siblings Ruby, Evelyn, Nellie, Beryl, Ross, and Harvey.

A special thank you to his caregivers Erin and Sharon, Caring Hands that safely brought Dad to and from Dialysis. Dad would call them the "Green Guys".  Thank You to Dr. Chaulk, Dr. Parai, Dr. Ahmed, and especially his dialysis family, Dr. Fudge, Dr. Murphy, Ruth, Lisa, Paulette, Tammy, Margie, Michelle, Gail, Chrissy, Lisa, Karla, Heather, Maureen, Vicki, Michelle, Regina, Melanie, Linda, Keith and all the others of the dialysis team. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the love and care that you have given to Eric (Our Beautiful, Happy Dad) over the past eleven years. He loved all of you.

Visitation will take place at Fillatres Funeral Home, Deer Lake on Saturday, June 22 from 7-9PM. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, June 23 at 2PM at The United Church with Reverend Myles Vardy officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Interment will take place on Monday, June 24th at 10:30 am at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery on Wights Road. .
