Obituary of Donald Squires Banfield

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Donald Squires Banfield , World War II Veteran, announce his passing on Friday, July 5, 2019 at The Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Stephenville Crossing, NL at the age of 94 years.  His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him especially his wife Olive Louise; children:  Alvin (Carol), Sandra, Lynne, Olly, Evie, Joyce (Andy), Max (Lola), Debbie (Chris), Gary (Lori) and Rhonda; step-daughter Susan (Keith); 30 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sister Ollie and many extended family members and friends.  He was pre-deceased by his first wife Faye,  parents Archibald and  Bertha Banfield; brother Russell; sister Eileen; son Derrick; brother-in-law Phil Bryant and son-in-law Junior Wight.  Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Stephenville Crossing  on Monday, July 8, 2019  between the hours of 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 9th  at All Saints Anglican Church in Stephenville Crossing, at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Norman Cutler officiating. Interment will take place following the funeral service in the Anglican Cemetery, Stephenville Crossing.  As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones’ choice.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
