It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick Christopher Boardman announce his passing on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him especially his wife Sylvia (Gallant); his children: Rod (Charmaine), Dean (Crystal), Brad (Viola), Jeff (Lori) and Chris (Lindsay); his six grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Nicholas, Riley, Jenna, Brooklyn, Lucas and Madalyn; his sisters: Doreen McKeown and Selina Hughes; his sister-in-law Agnes Boardman; his mother-in-law May Gallant; he will be sadly missed also by his furry friends whom he loved to see come visit Oliver, Chloe, Ollie and Red. He was predeceased by his parents Selina (Rawlinson) and Frederick Boardman, his brother Ron, brother-in-law Ken McKeown and father-in-law William Henry Gallant. A very special thank you to Dr. Kate Lafferty, Dr. Dunn and the exceptional caring nurses of the Palliative Care Unit. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Tuesday and Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Benoit’s Cove with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benoit’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Frederick’s memory may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
