Obituary of Gordon Joseph Bennett

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Gordon Joseph Bennett announce his passing on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the age of 89 years.  He Leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his eight sons and nine daughters:  Danny (Marion), Judy (Carl), Myrtle (Denis), Larry (Sue) Sandra, Dale (Bob), Melita (Chris), Brenda (Peter), Winnie (Leroy), Rene all from Dartmouth, NS, Gerry (Marie), Saint John, NB, Randall, Wallace, Gary, Janet (Jason), Shane (Stephanie), Gordon (Tracey) all from Stephenville Crossing, NL; 27 wonderful grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.  He was predeceased by his wife Loretta Marie Bennett; parents Mary Bennett & Martin Henry Benoit; brother Randall Nash; granddaughter Alissa Marie and great-granddaughter Drew Evelyn Keating.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2019  at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville, NL between the hours of 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.  The funeral service will take place on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. from St. Anne’s Chapel, Flat Bay, NL with Father Edmund Dantes officiating.  Inurnment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Teresa’s, NL.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
