Obituary of Joanne Mary Hickey

It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Joanne announce her passing at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, ON in her 62nd year.  She will be sadly missed by her sisters: Susan (Perry) Richard, Hamilton, ON, Gail, St. George’s, NL; brothers:  Andy (Carol Ann), Nick (Sandra), Flat Bay, NL, Scott, St. George’s, NL, Phillip, Kingston, ON; nieces:  Stacey (Michael) Bennett, Flat Bay, NL, Samantha (Will), Ontario and great-niece Abigail; nephews:  Jordon (Glennys), Goose Bay, NL, Stephen (Godchild) (Serin), Matthew (Godchild), St. George’s, NL and Dantes, Ontario.  Joanne also leaves to mourn a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.  Also leaving to mourn one of her oldest and dearest friends Nellie Rowe of Stephenville Crossing, NL.  Joanne’s family will be forever grateful to her loyal and dear friend Karen Brown, Uncles Rick Lee and Russell Mcfawn who were by her side faithfully throughout her lengthly illness.  Sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Health Center, Toronto, ON.  Joanne was pre-deceased by her parents Joseph & Eleanore Hickey; brother Donald; grandparents John & Loretta Lee and Gus & Annie Hickey.  Visitation will take place from St. Joseph’s Parish, St. George’s, NL on Thursday, August 8, 2019 between the hours of 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. from where the funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1 p.m. with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating.  Inurnment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove, NL will take place following the service.  As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones’ choice.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
