Sharon, Claudine,Elaine. Odelle and family,
We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. We weren't expecting this dear lady to ever leave us because of her age being 101 years but more so because we selfishly wanted her to be around forever . What an amazing, brilliant , resourceful and kind human being she was, our only regret is that we we weren't fortunate enough to have known her for those 101 years!!
Our time with Mary existed only within the walls of the Bay St. George Long Term Care home facility. We very quickly became very fond of this lady and immediately she took us under her wing and treated us like family !
Mary was Melinda's roommate, our mother/morher-law. Even though Melinda is very much into Dementia and legally blind Mary still valued her as a human being and treated her with the utmost respect ! She watched over Melinda, protected her like a child, sought out staff attention whenever needed and worried about her . She would often say " If I could only feed her " or " What a shame she can't see". The Alexander family thank-you Mary for being the compassionate and caring person you were to our mother! We know that Melinda always felt her presence and love as well as that of all her daughters and other family members.
Mary made our visits to the home so much more enjoyable . Even at the amazing age of 101 she was witty, funny, a great conversationalist, and a wealth of knowledge. We will miss you so very much sitting in your cozy chair in Nan's room knitting away and your complimentary comments about my shoes or dress ...
She will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts !! She was an angel on
earth and is a life to be celebrated!!!!
