It is with great sadness that the family of the late Effie Louise Ward announce her passing on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Craig Ward (Tammy) and Blair Ward (Tracey); grandchildren: Ashley Ward and Reyd Ward; brothers: Ben (Maudie) Knee, Wilfred (Peggy) Knee and Frank (Joan) Knee; sisters: Jean (Frank) Pilgrim, Audrey (Ray) Rowe, Doreen (Max) Strurge and Dorothy (Aubrey) Budgell; brother-in-law Wallace Burt; sisters-in-law: Donna Knee and Sandra (Roy) Foster; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Ward, granddaughter Dana Ward, parents Benjamin and Janie Knee, sisters Ena (George) Shirran, Pearl (Hubert) West, Mae Burt, Beatrice (Winston) Burt, brothers Douglas Knee and Robert Knee. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Lieutenant Colonels Audrey and Ray Rowe officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel or a charity of one’s choice.
