William Lawrence Martin Corner Brook, NL October 22, 1924 … January 31, 2009 Passed peacefully away on Saturday, January 31st, 2009 at Western Memorial Hospital, William Lawrence Martin in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are: wife : Jane (Hulan) Martin; son: Marcus (Sue) Martin, Calgary, AB; daughter: Brenda Martin, Mount Pearl; granddaughters: Ashley (Gavin) Preston and Robbyn Martin, Calgary; grandsons: Aaron and David Mosher, Mount Pearl; sister-in-law: Olga (Cliff) Pretty; other relatives in New Perlican and Southern Labrador; and a large circle of friends. Bill was a 50 year member of West Gate Masonic Lodge NO. 18 A.F and A.M. During that time he was actively involved and held many offices in the Association. Many thanks to Dr. Jerome Davis and the nurses at Western Memorial for their kindness and care. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday, February 1st between 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, February 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at The Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist. Reverend Michael Rice officiating, Interment to be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund.
