It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emerson Jacob “Bompsie” Fifield announce his passing on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Carolyn (Karl) Gilbert, Tony (Alice) Fifield, Diane (Shawn) Johnson and Laurie (Mark) Thompson; grandchildren: Shelly (Brad), Jackie (Colin), Sheri (Joe), Angie (Scott), Toni, Kayla (Grey), Christopher (Christina), Amanda and Adam (Krisi); 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Nellie Oram and Marie (Colin) Wells; sister-in-law Sharon Vokey; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Audrey, parents Jacob and Annie Fifield, sisters and brothers Fanny, Queen, Jane, Alwin, Edgar, Mabel and Lester. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Captains Darren and Danette Woods officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m. from the Pentecostal Cemetery, Springdale. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital or the Lung Association.
