It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our dear loved one, Wayne Morris Kelsie, on September 11, 2019 at the Labrador-Grenfell Long Term Care Facility in Newfoundland, Labrador.

Wayne is survived by his older sister Yvonne Johnson (Hazel Hill) (Milford Haven Home for Special Care) in Boylston.  He is also survived by his nieces Doreen Roberts (Boylston, NS), Carolyn Johnson (Dartmouth, NS), Brenda Joy Johnson (Kentville, NS), Marla George (Wilmot, Stouffville, ON), and nephew Ralph Johnson Jr. (Marcia, Timberlea, NS) as well as 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews, 6 great-grand nieces and 1 great-grand nephew. He was predeceased by his Mother, Ellen (Kelsie) Johnson, his Aunts Clara Kelsie, Nelly Parsons, and Daisy Kelsie, Brother-in-law, Ralph Johnson Sr. and niece, Audrey Keefe.

At a young age, Wayne always had a passion for reading and continuous learning. He also had a passion for wanting to help others in need. After completing high school, Wayne ambitiously pursued his undergraduate degree from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, NS where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and was an Alumni. Wayne also had an unstoppable determination to succeed and further advanced his education towards a career in law. He attended Dalhousie University, Faculty of Law, in Halifax, NS. He worked very hard independently to accomplish his goal and in 1973, he was granted his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.

He also worked with the Innu Development Limited Partnership in Happy Valley, Goose Bay, Labrador where he worked closely with the Natuashish and Sheshatshiu Innu communities. Wayne will always be remembered for his never ending kindness and compassion shown to everyone he came in contact with.

The family would like to forward their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Labrador-Grenfell Long Term Care Facility in Newfoundland for the care and compassion shown to him in his final days. The family also extends a heartfelt condolence to all of Wayne's friends and co-workers who will miss him dearly.
