Obituary of Garland A. Rolfe

Garland Azarella Rolfe

1932 -2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved father and grandfather Garland Azarella Rolfe of Corner Brook, Newfoundland.  Garland, known as “Dad”, “Pop” and “Skipper” peacefully passed on Thursday October 17, 2019 in the comfort of his own home.  Garland was a true gentleman with a kind heart and a gentle soul.  He will forever be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him yet we take comfort in knowing that he has now joined his angel in heaven.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Olga Rolfe and daughter Melvina Rolfe; brothers Robert and Harvey Rolfe, as well as sister Ann Hutchcraft. Leaving to morn his five children Gary (Debbie) Rolfe, Beverley (Tom) Targett, David (Clowie) Rolfe, Dave Rolfe, Amanda (Tim) Jesty; and grandchildren Roger (Jennifer) Targett, Peter and Sarah-Lynn Rolfe, Zachariah and Eve-Ann Rolfe, Lincoln and Raina Rolfe, Paityn and Danica Jesty; as well as great grandchildren Gavin, Madeline and Maëlle Targett; sister Myrtle Noseworthy as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday October 22 from 7-9 pm with funeral service being held at the Humber Valley United Church in Pasadena, on Wednesday October 23 at 2 pm with Reverend Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.  Memorial gifts may be donated to a charity of one’s choice.
