It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Rideout announce his passing on Saturday, February 7th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 84. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Jean Parsons, Corner Brook, Dorothy Janes (Gerald), John’s Beach, William (Barbara), Winnipeg, MB, Whycliff (Janet), Pine Falls, MB, Cathy MacDonald (Duncan), Calgary, AB and Peggy Rideout, Corner Brook; special friend, Effie Quinton, Corner Brook; six grandchildren: Roland, Paul, Tanya, Adam, Brittany and Stephanie; two great grandchildren: Christiane and Jason; one sister: Annie Moores, Corner Brook; sister-in-law: Loretta Payne, Curling; brother-in-law: Bill Temple, Corner Brook, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife Louise (1998); son-in-law: Roland Parsons (1994); parents: William and Harriett Rideout; sisters: Pearl Legge, Irene Luther and Lillian Sweetland; and brother, Fred. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 9th, at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, Park Street, Reverend Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and on Monday morning, 10:a.m. to 12 noon. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Church Memorial Fund, Western Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the charity of ones choice.
